While confinement already prohibits, except in the case of derogation, to move, the mayor of Sommières (Gard), has established a curfew for minors, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., until Wednesday, December 2.

Children and adolescents who are not accompanied by a legal representative will not be able to travel, specifies the decree, in force since Tuesday.

This municipal decree, which obtained the agreement of the State services, specifies the municipality, comes after “serious and repeated urban violence”, such as “fires of vehicles and garbage containers”.

"On several occasions, the firefighters and the police have been thrown by stones", continues the order.

Minors can be escorted home

The town hall of Sommières also specifies that the measure can be renewed, "if necessary".

Thus, "in the event of an inspection, the parent or legal representative accompanying the minor (s) on public roads must be able to justify their status immediately", specifies the municipal curfew decree.

In addition, any minor in violation may be returned to his home by the police.
