Much more public transport users during this second confinement?

The Moovit application, which provides "the best route options when traveling," according to their description, wanted to measure the difference in public transport use between the first confinement and the second.

For this, they were based "on the analysis of millions of anonymous data of route requests made by users of the Moovit application", March 30, date of the second Monday of the first confinement, and November 9, second Monday of the second confinement.

Thanks to this data, Moovit realized that there were 5.2 times more public transport users in Marseille during this second lockdown than during the first.

What is made the first city of France in terms of gap.

Follow Montpellier, Bordeaux and Lille with respectively 4.5 times more users for the first two, and 4.1 for the third.

On the contrary, in Paris or Nantes, there were "only" 2.6 and 2.7 times more users on November 9 compared to March 30.

The application notes a general increase in users in the ten cities surveyed, the continued opening of schools can notably explain this increase in attendance.

Note however that in Marseille, for example, there were about 30% fewer users than during a period of non-containment.
