A large amount of clams on the coast of Kujukuri Beach, Chiba "Don't take it home" November 18, 12:35

Since the middle of this month, a large number of clams have been found on the coast of Kujukuri Beach in Chiba Prefecture.

The cause is unknown, but local fishermen's cooperatives are urging the general public not to take it home to protect the fishing grounds.

According to the fishery cooperative in Kujukuri Town, Chiba Prefecture, a large number of clams have been found launched on the coast of Kujukuri Beach in the morning from around 10th of this month.

On the morning of the 18th, a large amount of clams were launched all around the beach on the coast of Kujukuri Town, and about 15 local fishermen gathered to check the situation.

Fishing rights have been set for the entire Kujukuri beach, and it is forbidden for the general public to take clams without permission, but some people take them home, so the fishery cooperative patrols the coast and clams. I was calling not to take it without permission.

According to the fishery cooperative, this phenomenon seems to occur in a range of about 10 km or more in the surrounding area.

According to the Chiba Prefectural Fisheries Research Center, cases of large numbers of shellfish being struck are reported every few years, but the cause is unknown.

The clams that have been launched will be protected by the fishery cooperative and will be returned offshore.

A local man who visits the beach on a walk every day said, "It is often launched when the sea is rough due to a typhoon in the past, but it has been launched every day for about a week."

I'm worried about the amount of clams decreasing

Kujukuri Beach is a major clam producing area, and local fishermen's cooperatives are working on branding the clams that can be harvested from November as "Kujukuri Hamaguri".

According to the fishermen, it is sold at the direct sales office for about 1,500 yen per kilo at this time, but since the middle of this month, the amount of clams that can be caught at the offshore fishing grounds has decreased, so the people concerned are headed by a mysterious phenomenon. I'm worried.
