While we still do not know exactly what the holiday season will look like, a doubt has just been raised on the Christmas trees.

A decree to authorize sales will be published "in the next few days," Agriculture Minister Julien Denormandie said on Monday.

This will reassure professionals in the sector who were worried about not being able to sell their trees due to restrictions related to re-containment.

A frustrating and sad world, for Denormandie

“The French will be able to buy Christmas trees.

In this world so frustrating, sad, I believe that the fairyland of Christmas is in all respects important ”, indicated the minister during an interview by Public Senate-LCP-Le Figaro.

"But the question is when are we going to be able to start buying them, and where are we going to be able to buy them?"

", He continued, assuring that the decree will allow to answer these questions.

In France, 6 million Christmas trees are sold each year, mainly in supermarkets, DIY stores and garden centers, 80% of which come from French production, according to figures provided by the French association of the natural Christmas tree. (AFSNN).
