With the mayor of Mazamet, the promotion in this health crisis of the famous “mayor-prefect couple” and “local experiments” was well received.

Olivier Fabre, who presides over the destinies of this small town of 10,000 inhabitants, has decided to take the leap.

On Monday, he wrote to the prefect of Tarn, offering to celebrate Black Friday in the city of mégissière, by reopening non-essential stores for three days from Friday, November 27.

"These three days of opening" test "would be carried out at the scale of the municipality which has the advantage of constituting a restricted perimeter, easily controllable", writes the city council, while promising to deploy the municipal police and all the elected officials of the city on the ground to supervise the experiment.

"Strict protocols"

The one who had already proposed in the spring to all French people to come and deconfin themselves forever in Mazamet, suggests “strict reception protocols” - 4 m2 per customer in the shops - and to extend the device to places of worship.

So, will this human-scale deconfinement laboratory appeal to the authorities?

The near future will tell.
