Are we heading towards a decline in the coronavirus epidemic in Lyon?

The figures communicated on Tuesday by the HCL, Lyon's civil hospices show a slowdown in the number of hospitalizations even if they remain high and much more important than during the first wave of Covid-19 last spring.

As of November 16, 2,124 patients were registered in the various public establishments in the Rhône and Nord Isère departments (Bourgoin and Vienne).

That is 26 more admissions than the previous week.

In detail, 790 people are currently treated in the HCL, or 7 more.

And 1,334 on the rest of the territory.

In short, the increase continues, but in a much smaller way than that observed between October 19 and November 9.

The sheave services remain very largely saturated

The intensive care units, whose capacity has increased to 277 beds (usually 139), remain congested, however, since the occupancy rate is currently 91.3% against 87.1% the previous week.

And this despite the transfers of several patients to other regions of France such as Grand-Est, Aquitaine or Pays-de-la-Loire.

"To date, 67.2% of patients present in intensive care are affected are Covid +", indicate the HCL specifying that the rate has also slightly increased in one week (64.1% as of November 10).

Encouraging signs: emergency room visits and emergency medical services continue to decline.

And confirm the trend already observed last week.
