Guinea was the first French-speaking country to obtain its independence in 1958… and it is quite naturally with this country that the cycle of shows "Indépendances Cha Cha" begins, within the framework of the Africolor festival.

In 1958, Guinea answered "no" to the referendum on the Franco-African community.
Sékou Touré refuses what he considers a form of "
blackmail
", according to Vladimir Cagnolari, author and director of the Africolor show.

There was this De Gaulle game which said if a country answered no or yes to independence, France drew all the consequences.
Moreover, we have seen it.
We, Guinea, we upset De Gaulle so much that he practiced the total rupture of the bridges with Guinea, which was not at all the intention of Sékou Touré when he said no.
