Dubai Design Week is an important meeting point for the local design community, and a platform for enriching and empowering the creative scene in Dubai.

The activities of the week that concluded the activities of the 2020 edition, which were held despite the challenges of the Corona virus, which caused the postponement of many cultural and artistic events around the world, varied between design, exhibitions, and artistic installations, in addition to competitions, dialogue sessions and workshops that cover various specializations and creative fields.

The event, which is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, has become the first major cultural event since the start of the pandemic, including 160 activities with the participation of more than 650 designers and creatives who contributed to the drafting of the Dubai Design Week 2020 program, which Focus on the inimitable creative talents in the region and the role of the creative community in changing our perception of our lifestyle today, and the future of things around us.

The Emirati designer and owner of Al Joud Lootah Design Studio, Al Joud Lootah, said: “The Dubai Design Week events were wonderful because we were able to get to know the visitors of the week from different industries, backgrounds, ages and nationalities as they interact with the installations and enjoy the activities spread throughout the exhibition, which is a positive thing in itself. Hybrid program

In continuation of its pioneering role in embracing the community of designers in the region, the hybrid program of "Downtown Design" was able to provide a link for designers in the region and the world, in addition to a multimedia exhibition entitled "The Future of Things", through more than 25 works and exploration projects for a group of decor and design studios. Maryam Abdul-Rasheed, a graduate of UAE Zayed University, who participated in the "Living Space with Dignity" project, praised the exhibition and events, saying: It was an amazing opportunity to participate in the first edition of the Graduate Exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa, and that was one of the great things this year.

I was honored to showcase my project along with other amazing participating projects to talented designers aspiring to provide a better tomorrow for them and their communities.

The "Dubai Design Week Market" initiative was launched this year with the support of the Culture and Arts Authority in "Dubai Culture", and the works of more than 70 artists, craftsmen, creatives and entrepreneurs were exhibited in Dubai in an outdoor retail space during the program at the weekend.
