Monday's announcement that public events with more than eight participants will be banned has been received with sadness in the culture industry, something the Minister of Culture says he understands.

- The cultural sector has been hit very hard throughout the pandemic.

Today's message means that a tough situation will be even tougher.

I see that more support will be needed to be able to get through this, says Lind.

Additional targeted support

When can there be information about that form of support?

- As fast as it goes.

Last week, we announced that short-term layoffs will be extended.

That in itself is an important message for culture, but I think we will also need further targeted support.

Many have been surprised that the government raised the audience limit to 300 for seated audiences, to take back almost immediately.

But the new restrictions will only apply for a shorter period of time, according to Amanda Lind.

- During the pandemic, we have tried to find more accurate rules.

That's why we agreed to the 300 exemption for seated audiences.

It still remains, so when the infection allows, it should be possible to make a regional decision to release more sedentary audiences.

A long work

Do you see any light in the tunnel?

- I hope that all people really avoid partying and different types of social contexts.

Then we must ensure that businesses survive, this applies to both private and commercial businesses and individual traders, so that they can start up again.

But it will be a long job, says Amanda Lind.
