[Dancing the Yangtze River Economic Belt · Watching High-Quality Development] Generations of the Yangtze River "floating on the water" fishermen have gone ashore for more than ten years

In Taizhou, Jiangsu, Chen Wei's grandfathers have been fishing for a living.

The fishermen who were supposed to be "floating on the water" for generations have changed in his generation.

Chen Wei "washed his feet and went ashore" early on. In the past ten years or so, he has personally funded the stocking of fish fry many times to feed back the Yangtze River and protect the "Mother River".

Chen Wei is 50 years old this year. He grew up on the riverside and has a unique and deep affection for the Yangtze River.

Now, whenever he has free time, Chen Wei always comes to the riverside to take a walk.

Although in the past few decades, the scene of playing on the riverside as a child has always been a good memory in his mind.

"In the past, as long as you choose the right water outlet and support the upper and lower straps, the simplest fishing method can be reaped. The folks who go out of the river by boat will be full of fish and shrimp every time they return." Chen Wei recalled, "until later The ecology was destroyed, the water quality was much worse than before, and there were fewer and fewer fish and shrimps. My parents also went ashore and started a business selling puffer fish."

In 2009, Chen Wei decided to breed local river water puffer fish.

He circulates more than 200 acres of tidal flats above Gaogang Jiajiang, benefiting from the impact of the Yangtze River's geological structure and abundant water sources of the Yangtze River. The fish's meat is tender and delicious.

“After the enterprise has developed to a certain extent, I see that there are fewer fish in the Yangtze River. Whenever I think of the scene when I was young, I feel sad.” Chen Wei said that since 2013, he has personally invested in the Yangtze River to release fish fry.

In 2018, he started putting puffer fish fry.

"In August last year, someone found a small puffer fish in an inland river. This is a good thing." He said with satisfaction.

However, Chen Wei's act of releasing fish also caused some people to question.

The first batch of puffer fish fry put by Chen Wei is worth more than 70,000 yuan, and it can produce more than 1 million yuan when grown. Many people do not understand and think he is "stupid".

Chen Wei said, "My grandfathers and fathers used to'drank water'. When we arrive at our agency, we should feed back the Yangtze and protect our mother river."

Others feel that “the survival rate of fish released like this is low” and “a waste of money”.

In this regard, Chen Wei said, “I don’t think about it this way. Someone has to do this. If I don’t do it now, I will do it in the future. I want to do it first, and then if I find that it is not in place, I can improve it.

On May 20 this year, Chen Wei continued to put more than 60,000 fry into the Yangtze River. "May 20th is our'release day'. We will continue the fry release plan. '520' homophonic' I love You', this is what I want to express to the Yangtze River."

Chen Wei also spontaneously formed the "Healthy Jianglai" volunteer service team. "Proliferation and release, giving back to the Yangtze River, and patrolling along the river" has become the normal work of the volunteer service team.

Since the end of last year, fishermen along the Yangtze River "washed their feet and went ashore." Chen Wei also helped to arrange jobs for some fishermen who landed ashore, and trained a group of fish farming experts.

"Now, the riverside is clean, the river water is clear, and the restoration project has been completed. The beautiful Yangtze River is gradually approaching the beautiful scene of my childhood." Chen Wei said.
