Leading group A with the particular difference in front of Mali in these CAN 2021 qualifiers, Guinea had the opportunity to put the pressure and take a giant step towards the next continental meeting on November 15 in N ' Djamena.
Facing Chad, red lantern and almost out of the race with no points on the clock, the national Syli led in the score.
But at the final whistle, he only collected one point from his visit to the Idriss-Mahamat-Ouya stadium, behind closed doors.
A missile signed Keïta
Didier Six, the coach of Guinea, aligned a 4-3-3 with the obvious presence of the captain and metronome of the team, Naby Keïta.
The midfielder, away from the field with the Liverpool Reds since early October following a positive test for Covid-19, but present on November 11 in Conakry during the third day of the qualifiers against the Chadians (1-0), lit up the first act.
While both teams had good chances, the No.8 punished the big mistake in the recovery of the Sao defense.
Naby Keïta recovered the ball and unleashed an overpowering shot 25 meters from the opposing goal.
His shot ended in the top corner of Gabin Allabatna (23rd).
Guinea has the breath of Mali behind its back, Chad is almost eliminated
Head underwater, the Chadian selection still found the resources to return to the score just before the break.
The Guinean rearguard did not manage to effectively repel an offensive from the premises, and Ahmat Abdaraman was able to equalize by placing his volley well (45th).
In the second half, Guinea had opportunities to regain the advantage, but lack of precision, the nets did not shake.
A kicked free kick even ended its run on the post just after play resumed. In the final minutes, Chad finished 10 after the second yellow card received by Eric Mbangossoum.
In two days, Mali will have an opportunity to take the lead of Group A during its trip to Namibia.
But the Namibians have not said their last word.
For Chad, a qualification is still mathematically playable, but it would take a clear course in the last two matches and count on three defeats from Mali as well as tailor-made performances from Namibia;
as much to say that it is almost impossible mission.
