Bad buzz and buyout for Bouygues Telecom.

After angering oyster farmers with its advertising suggesting that oysters make you sick, the telephone operator bowed to the spectacular action of producers by changing its promotional clip.

Tuesday, oyster farmers ransacked the facade of the store in Lorient (Morbihan) after the broadcast of a promotional video broadcast by Bouygues Telecom in the run-up to Christmas.

“There will be my cousin with his oysters.

So I know you love adventure, but here I don't recommend: every year, there is one who gets sick, ”said one of the actresses in this humorous spot.

On Tuesday, several cubic meters of oyster shells had been spilled and the display case had been smeared with silt.

The oyster farmers considered the advertising offensive for their profession, already undermined by the episodes of confinement.

“Our oysters don't make you sick.

We asked that the advertisement is no longer broadcast and we won our case, ”said Jacques Carrer, president of the Ria d'Etel oyster union.

Uncertain context for oyster farmers

The operator had the promotional clip changed urgently and broadcast it on Friday night on its channels, while apologizing.

Bouygues Telecom even invited oyster farmers to come this Saturday morning to sell their oysters in front of the store in Lorient renamed "Bhuitres Telecom".

The hatchet was buried in the mud.

But oyster producers continue to tremble as the Christmas holidays appear threatened by containment.
