On the night of the 13th, a fire broke out in one house in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, killing two people.
Police are trying to confirm the identity of the elderly couple who died in this house.
After 11:00 pm on the 13th, a neighbor reported to the fire department that a fire was coming out of the house of Mr. Toru Kamada (76) in Nakaoshio, Chino City, Nagano Prefecture.
The fire was extinguished after about four and a half hours, but one two-story wooden house was burned down and part of the adjacent house was also burned down.
According to police, one was found dead in the burn and one woman was taken unconscious to the hospital but subsequently died.
It is said that Mr. Kamada and his 68-year-old wife lived in the burnt-out house, but after the fire, neither of them could be contacted.
The site is a densely populated area about 5 km northeast of JR Chino Station, and police are investigating the cause of the fire while confirming the identity of Mr. and Mrs. Kamata who died.
