The Polish author Olga Tokarczuk, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature, admitted in the introduction to her new book "The Compassionate Narrator", which was published in Poland the day before yesterday, that the book would not have come to light without the Corona pandemic.

"I owe this book to some extent for the pandemic," the Polish news agency "Bab" quoted Tokarczuk as saying.

During the lockdown, I felt the need to organize the articles I wrote, not only from last year, but also from the years before it. ”

The book, entitled "The Affectionate Narrator," includes her speech on accepting the Nobel Prize, as well as six articles and six lectures.

Tokarczuk was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2018 for "the fictional narrative that passionately represents crossing borders as a form of life."

The announcement was postponed until 2019 due to a crisis that engulfed the Swedish Academy that year.
