Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said on franceinfo that in total, 48 illegal aliens suspected of radicalization had been expelled from France since July 1.

In mid-October, he assured that France wanted to expel from its territory 231 foreigners in an irregular situation followed for radicalization.

In addition to the 48 expulsions, "half of these 231 people are now out of harm's way," said the minister.

50 of them are currently in an administrative detention center awaiting deportation and 43 others are under house arrest, according to his entourage.

Around 100 illegal aliens suspected of radicalization

"There are still more than a hundred foreigners in an irregular situation whom we suspect of radicalization" on the national territory, added Gérald Darmanin.

The minister said he hoped that his successive trips to Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria or Thursday to Russia, the country most represented among radicalized foreigners in an irregular situation in France, "will accelerate these expulsions".

These trips, during which he presented the authorities with a list of people to be expelled, "have already produced a number of results," he said.

In total, “more than 450” foreigners in an irregular situation, registered in the file of alerts for the prevention of terrorist radicalization (FSPRT), have been expelled from France since the start of the five-year term, recalled Gérald Darmanin.
