The Lebanese singer Carole Samaha won, the day before yesterday, the Best Actress Award from the Alexandria Film Festival for the Mediterranean Countries, for her role in the film "By Chance", directed by Bassem Khristo.

She shared with her the Spanish award, Emma Suarez, for her role in the film "Window on the Sea", directed by Miguel Angel Jimenez, while the award for best actor of Moroccan Rabie Gleem went to his role in the movie "The Punch."

"Bari", for the Iranian Siamak I'tmadi, won two awards for best film and best director, in the 36th session of the festival, which was held under exceptional circumstances due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The award for best screenplay went to "A Window on the Sea", and the jury awarded its own prize for the film.

The Syrian film "Dark Clouds", directed by Ayman Zaidan, and starring Wael Ramadan, Lina Hawarneh and Ramiz Atallah, won the Artistic Achievement Award.

The film "The Punch" by Moroccan Muhammad Amin Mouna won the best Arab film award, while the prize for the first work went to the Lebanese film "Missing" by Bashir Abu Zeid.

In the festival's short films competition, the award for best film went to "Vincent before noon" by the French director Guillaume Manigo, while the jury awarded its special prize for the film "Inclusive of the Bills", directed by Spanish Javier Massibi.

The jury also praised the film “The Strip” from Albania, as well as the hero of the Moroccan film “The Absolute Ink”, Ezz Al-Arab Al-Kaghat.

This year, the festival session was named after the Egyptian actor Izzat Al-Alayli.

The Syrian film "Dark Clouds" won an artistic achievement award.
