[Explanation] On November 11, after the beginning of winter, it was the time to fill sausages and eat bacon.

In Xinkaisi Street, a famous sausage and bacon street in Chengdu, Sichuan, many butcher shops have put up sausage and bacon, attracting citizens to come and buy it.

[Explanation] The National Bureau of Statistics of China announced on the 10th that in October, China's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.5% year-on-year, a sharp drop of 1.2 percentage points from the previous month.

Among them, pork prices fell for the first time after rising for 19 consecutive months.

Has the price of sausage bacon made of fresh pork come down after the price of pork has dropped?

The reporter walked into a shop called "Little Horse" on Xinkaisi Street and saw that sausages and bacon were hanging all over the roof. The staff were busy selling fresh pork while making sausages.

According to Wen Jianqiang, the owner of the shop, since last year, the price of pork has risen to about 35 yuan per catty. Last year, the price of sausage and bacon they sold was between 58 and 68 yuan per catty.

However, with the recent drop in pork prices, the price of sausage and bacon has also adjusted accordingly.

Our meat prices will be cheaper this year, and sausages will also be cheaper.

Our black pig sausages are sold at 60 (yuan per catty) and white pig sausages are sold at 55 (yuan per catty). By comparison, it is about 10 yuan per catty.

When the meat (price) was the highest last year, we sold it for 35 (yuan) per catty. This year, the price of meat has dropped to 25 (yuan) per catty.

The meat in the market near us in Chengdu is around 25 yuan per catty.

[Explanation] Although the peak sales season for sausage and bacon has not yet arrived, Wen Jianqiang's butcher shop business is booming.

In addition to receiving customers who come to the store, Wen Jianqiang also bows his head from time to time to reply to customers who place orders online.

Wen Jianqiang said that butcher shops can now sell four to five hundred catties of sausage and bacon a day, of which online sales account for half.

The sausages on Sausage Street are mainly foreign tourists.

Affected by the epidemic this year (beginning of the year), foreign tourists cannot make it through, and our sales still have a great impact.

Many (outside) buyers ate our sausages and thought they tasted good. They called us to ship them via WeChat and phone calls, so our online orders were more than last year.

This year the price of pork has fallen, which has also led to the reduction of our sausage and bacon prices. After all, if the price is reduced, there will be more consumer groups.

[Explanation] Many Chengdu residents who came to buy pork or sausage and bacon said that after the price of pork drops, they will increase their purchases to a certain extent.

If it rises too much, we will eat less. If it drops, we will buy more to eat. It depends on personal economic conditions.
