If Twitter is a social network where invective and sarcasm are common currency, some personalities come to bring a little lightness.

This is the case of Samuel Etienne, presenter of the morning of Franceinfo and

Questions pour un champion

on France 3, who regularly offers his subscribers a few drops of his tongue-in-cheek humor and his phlegmatic irony.

The latest example does not go further than this Thursday, a little before 3 a.m.

The host posted a video in which he announced, facing the camera, that "the hour is serious".

"After having tried to wish on Twitter the birthdays of all those who asked me, I must realize in the end that this occupation, nice, takes me too much time," he said.

IMPORTANT (very).

This is an informational message.

And concerns (maybe) your birthday.

"After a meeting of the family council, here, of the highest governing bodies of France Televisions, of Franceinfo, of

Questions pour un champion

, I must, with death in my soul, stop this activity," added Samuel Etienne.

"A kind of group prize"

However, those who absolutely wanted the host to accompany them with his wishes to blow out an extra candle can be reassured.

The presenter will continue to post birthday messages, but now it will be one every 24 hours, for "all born on this day".

"A kind of group prize," he smiled before wishing a "sweet and bright birthday" to the natives on November 12th.

If this case is obviously anecdotal, it illustrates how social networks can be used by personalities on the small screen to interact with their audience.

Last week, Cyril Féraud, host of

Slam

on France 3, explained how he had been contacted via Twitter by a woman wanting to talk to him about Paul, a loyal viewer in a retirement home.

He had, in the process, written a letter which was read to this nonagenarian fan as Internet users could see on the video relayed by Cyril Féraud.

Recently, @VilaineMarie contacted me to tell me about Paul 97 years old who is faithful among the faithful of #Slam!

A few days later he received a letter.

So happy to do this job and give viewers of ALL ages a little smile ❤️ @slamlejeuoff #thank you pic.twitter.com/EU43QIkRHy
