The Human Resources Department, represented by the head of the Emiratisation department, Samira Abu Bakr, and a human resources executive in the publishing sector, Mohamed Hassan Khadem, handed over the collected quantity to the company yesterday.

Muhammad Hassan Khadim said: “The publishing sector offers initiatives and events in various fields that reflect social responsibility, and aim to preserve the environment and sustainability, and reduce environmental pollution, as part of the activities of“ Bahja ”initiatives in the sector, whose objectives include the cohesion of members of the functional community. , Pointing out that «this initiative will enhance the environmental culture of employees in particular, and members of society in general. Two boxes have been set up to collect the water bottle caps for the purpose of donating them to recycle plastic waste, and this initiative has received a response from various employees.

The Director of Research and Development at Tadweer Company for Waste Treatment in Dubai, Mohammed Jarrar, said: “The company works in partnership with Dubai Municipality, and receives about 25 thousand tons of household waste every month, which are sorted and treated, in addition to receiving 3000 tons per month of agricultural and organic waste. Converting it to organic fertilizer, ”pointing out that“ the waste is received by the company from Dubai Municipality and waste transport vehicles in the private sector, and then it is recycled to preserve the environment instead of being buried in landfills, as it emits harmful gas emissions from it. ”

He added, "There are four recycling plants in the company, including two plants for recycling plastics, one for sorting waste, and another for producing compost."

The Director of the Environmental Awareness Department at Tadweer Waste Treatment Company, Enas Subhi Ali, said: “The company has a (Sorting from Source) program, which aims to educate the public to undertake environmental initiatives similar to the publishing sector initiative in Dubai Media Corporation, with the aim of sorting waste and providing us with it for recycling. ».

And she continued: “More than 10 years ago, the company launched an educational awareness-raising program targeting school and university students, in which 100 public and private schools from Dubai participate, and annually the company visits the waste recycling mechanism from 4000 to 6000 students, and we organize lectures and awareness workshops. During this year we organized more than 20 virtual awareness lectures.
