There will be no lessons this Friday, November 13 in the Mario-Beulaygue college in Ax-les-Thermes, in Ariège.

The prefect decided to close the establishment until Wednesday, November 18 inclusive after the discovery of six positive cases for Covid-19 in the ranks of students in the sport section.

The drastic measure, taken in consultation with the regional health agency, is due in particular to the small size of the college which has only 176 students.

As a result, 11 of the 18 teachers and six education assistants were identified as contact cases, and the establishment can no longer function normally.

Chantal Mauchet, the prefect, specifies that "the students were welcomed in accordance with the health protocol in force".

She now asks families to ensure respect for isolation and watch for the appearance of any symptoms in the students.
