[Dancing the Yangtze River Economic Belt · Seeing high-quality development] 26 years of fishing people "transformed" fishermen just to protect the Yangtze River

[Explanation] In November, the forests along the Yangtze River are lush and the river breeze is fluent.

Early in the morning, the fisherman Hu Songqing put on his life jacket and law enforcement apparatus as usual, and started a day of inspections on the law enforcement boat.

A few months ago, he was an experienced fisherman.

I have been engaged in fishing for 26 years until this year (2020).

Since the ban on fishing in the Yangtze River in December 2019, we have stopped fishing.

We started to establish a fishery protection law enforcement base in July 2020 this year, and recruited 6 fishermen, and we signed up.

[Explanation] Standing at the bow of the ship, Hu Songqing looked into the distance from time to time to observe whether there was illegal fishing.

In addition, he and other fishermen are also responsible for the publicity of the prohibition on catching policy and daily inspections of the waters.

During the inspection, Hu Songqing discovered that his years of fishing experience have come in handy.

If the fishing person extends the fishing rod, there is a remote sensor behind it, which can be seen clearly within 50 meters.

Once we find that there is an extension fishing rod, we will immediately lean over, confiscated it, and persuade it.

If we find illegal fishing, we know the tools at a glance. Even if you float a small stick, we know what the tool is.

This is also the specialty of our fishermen.

[Explanation] Before becoming a fisherman, Hu Songqing had spent 26 years fishing in the Yangtze River. Not only did he live on board the boat, his income was also unstable.

Since December 1, 2019, the Chizhou section of the Yangtze River has been completely banned from fishing, and Hu Songqing also "washed his feet and went ashore" and began the road of fish protection.

Now, he has completely bid farewell to the wind and rain on the houseboat in the past, and the family moved into a new house.

Hu Songqing smiled and said that this job is very happy.

When I hired (I was) a fisherman, I was very excited when I got on the boat at the beginning, because our lifestyle has undergone a 180-degree turn, and we have changed from a fisherman to a fisherman. This is exciting. .

It turned out to be a fisherman with (income) about 40,000 to 50,000 yuan a year. This (fisherman) is relatively stable and has built resettlement houses.

In addition, I keep thinking about working hard to do a good job, and I gradually adapt after training.

[Explanation] Standing on the shimmering Yangtze River, watching the ecological environment here is getting better and better, Hu Songqing is enjoying it.

In the past, when we were fishing, there were many fishermen. When we were fishing, we depended on the Yangtze River for food every day, and the fish caught decreased year by year.

Speaking from this year, this ban on fishing is indeed beneficial.

When we were sailing, the fish all jumped onto the boat. Many fish jumped all over the body. (Catch ban) did have an immediate effect.

[Explanation] It is understood that, at present, all 1,336 fishermen who are willing to retreat in Chizhou City have achieved employment. The insurance rates of retired fishermen for retirement, medical care and housing have reached 100%.

The fishermen's life has become more prosperous after the retiring of fishing and production.

After the ban on fishing, all the fishermen who lived on the water in the past went ashore. It should be said that it has played a certain role in protecting the waters of the Yangtze River.

The aquatic life of the Yangtze River has been cultivated and protected.

Of the 9 fishing protection spots in the city, all 54 fishermen were transformed from fishermen.

The fishermen have gone ashore, their lives are stable, and their hearts are at ease. Basically, their income is several times higher than on the water.
