“In a situation of unprecedented cultural paralysis, the 3 Continents festival imagines, instead of its initial project, a new proposal for the 42nd edition.
On Tuesday evening, the organization of the event, devoted to films from Asia, Africa and Latin America, announced an adaptation given the health context.
Scheduled from November 20 to 29, the Nantes festival cannot take place in cinemas, which have been closed since the reconfinement.
Fourteen sessions offered
“A different film will be offered every night of the week and two on weekends from November 20 to 29 during virtual and free screenings within the limits of available places,” announces the organization.
Fourteen screenings (Free VOD) will thus be offered to the public in mainland France.
To attend, you will need to order a ticket online on the festival website.
The number of tickets will be limited.
The international competition is nevertheless maintained and the selected films will be submitted to the professional jury and the Young jury who will respectively award the Gold and Silver Balloons and the Young Jury Prize.
The films of the official selection having given their agreement will be accessible to accredited professionals on Festival Scope Pro.
"We hope to be able to present these films to the public as soon as the cinemas reopen", hopes the organization.
The 2020 winners will be unveiled on November 30 at 2 p.m. on the festival's website and social networks.
