She majestically plays Lady Di in the fourth season of

The Crown

, expected on Netflix this Sunday.

At 24, Emma Corrin is the revelation of this new burst of episodes.

The actress was born just before the death of the Princess of Wales and has no recollection of the iconic Princess of Hearts.

A chance, according to her: “In retrospect, I think it was easier to do this season, to bring my own interpretation of the character to her,” she said in an interview with

.

The season also features several scenes showing Diana secretly struggling with bulimia.

Scenes that the young actress insisted on playing.

“I felt that if we tried to portray bulimia in an honest way, we had to show it, if not betray anyone who's been through it,” she said at a press conference.

And to add: "Diana was very honest about her experience of bulimia, and I admire it so much".

Princess Diana mentioned her eating disorder in the 1995 interview with Martin Bashir.

Corrin did extensive research into this eating disorder in order to prepare for the role, according to

Variety

 : “You can't do everything she was going through justice without including it.

It was so symptomatic of the emotional turmoil and all the suppressed emotions she was feeling.

"

Each episode which features the princess's bulimia is preceded by a warning and a link to an eating disorder prevention site.
