The French branch of Peta, the organization campaigning for "an ethic in the treatment of animals" is pulling out its claws against Wejdene.

In the video for her latest track, 16, uploaded on Sunday, the singer appears alongside a black bear.

This animal "has nothing to do in a clip", the association was annoyed on Monday, explaining on Twitter, having written to the artist "to inform him about the suffering of captive animals".

“Let's hope that between her and the exploitation of animals in captivity, it's over, it's over!

», Added Peta France.

And to insist, in a second message: "The wild animals used in the entertainment industry suffer terrible physical and psychological abuse.

They suffer when they are torn from their mothers at a young age, confined and trained by threat, deprivation and beatings.

"

I don't judge the talent of this young singer whom I don't know

I just find it sad to continue to use wild animals as "objects".

PS: and the fur coat ... I dare to hope it's synthetic eh 🙏 https://t.co/XyuY6YUtj2

"With images like these animal abuse is trivialized"

A little earlier, the Animal Assistance Foundation also appealed to Wejdene.

“Why did you choose a captive and trained bear in your last clip?

Future generations are sensitive to the animal cause and your audience is part of it.

And it is with images like these that animal abuse is trivialized!

She tweeted.

Jean-Marie Bigard also shared this post by going from his comment: "I find it sad to continue to use wild animals as" objects "", he wrote while saying that he hoped that the fur coat worn by the singer in the clip was "synthetic".

For the time being, Wejdene has not officially reacted to these messages.

48 hours after being posted online, the

approached the 2 million views mark on YouTube and was in fourth place for the most viewed content in France on the platform.

The well-being of captive wildlife in France has been in the news in recent weeks.

At the end of September, Barbara Pompili, Minister for Ecological Transition, announced, among other things, the progressive ban on the presentation of wild animals in traveling circuses.
