A spokesperson for the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council said in a statement on the 10th that he strongly condemned the U.S. for once again imposing so-called sanctions on Hong Kong-related agencies of the Chinese government and officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The spokesman said that the formulation and implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law is a matter within China's sovereignty, and no external forces may interfere.
The Chinese Central Government firmly supports the relevant departments and personnel of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in performing their duties and due diligence in accordance with the law to prevent, stop and punish any acts and activities that violate the Hong Kong National Security Law and relevant Hong Kong laws.
The United States has repeatedly disregarded the facts, continued to fabricate "unnecessary" charges, and repeatedly imposed so-called sanctions on Hong Kong-related agencies of the Chinese government and officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
This is a serious violation of the basic norms of international law and international relations, a gross interference in China’s internal affairs and Hong Kong affairs, a wanton destruction of Hong Kong’s rule of law and a high degree of autonomy, and a blatant provocation to the Chinese government and the Chinese people in safeguarding the legitimate interests of the country.
The spokesperson pointed out that under the guise of "human rights," "democracy," and "freedom," the United States has continuously brandished the sanctions stick and spared no effort to support the anti-China chaos in Hong Kong. It wants to continue to create chaos in Hong Kong and reverse the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law. Later, Hong Kong society changed from chaos and governance, playing the "Hong Kong card" to contain China's development.
