This came during a virtual dialogue session within the activities of the 39th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, as the two writers reviewed the importance of the surrounding environment and society in motivating the writer to present creative works.

The Bahraini writer emphasized that “reading books brings cultures and peoples closer together, and almost every book is a journey to new countries and worlds, and the writer’s mission in his research and readings is to benefit from the worlds that open them before him and transform the details he receives into new aesthetics that serve his literary works.”

While Westover said, “The writer should search for a homeland for his writings, a stable ground from which to start, because if I want to write about an environment or a society, I have to go and immerse myself in its culture, get used to its language, feed it, and test everything that touches my senses, and make sure to document scenes Visually ».

He added, "The influence of society and its culture is important for the writer's creativity, and drives him to compose works that remain in the readers' memory."
