Kamala Harris is happy to highlight that she is interested in music.

As a child and teenager, she sang in the Baptist Church Church Choir at her home in Berkeley, California.

In connection with the prelude to her own presidential election campaign last year, she shared her favorite songs on the talk show Late night with Steven Colbert.

At the top of the list was Funkadelic's One Nation Under a Groove, a funky song from the album of the same name that was released in 1978.

The album is about a country where funk dominates, and where "futility" is to be fought.

Kamala Harris justified her choice by saying that she is "for more dance in politics".

Written books

Kamala Harris, like most aspiring to the presidency, has also tried her hand at writing as a writer, writing two books.

Partly the autobiography The Truths We Hold: An American Journey, partly the children's book "Superheroes are everywhere", a colorful picture book on the theme "you can if you want, everyone can become superheroes".

Book about cancer-stricken son

Incumbent President Joe Biden has also written a handful of autobiographical-style books.

Most famous is probably his autobiography "Promises to a son: a year of grief, hope and meaning" which is about the time as vice president behind Obama, but above all about the son Beau Biden who died of cancer in 2015.
