Zhong Hanlin was subsequently charged with one count of secession, one count of conspiracy to publish seditious publications, and two counts of money laundering. He was taken to the West Kowloon Court for trial on October 29. The judge postponed the case until January 7 next year. He was asked again on the same day, saying that Zhong was at risk of absconding and reoffending, and ordered him to be remanded in custody.
