Corona wreck Foreign technical intern trainee who loses his place Requests a fact-finding survey from the country November 9, 16:45

Support groups have requested the government to investigate the actual situation, saying that foreign technical intern trainees have been dismissed due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and there are a number of cases where they cannot re-employ and lose their place.

The request was made by an organization that supports foreigners working in Japan, and about 30 members, including members, requested measures from persons in charge such as the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Ministry of Justice at the Members' Office Building in Tokyo.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the number of foreign technical intern trainees dismissed due to the effects of the new coronavirus has risen to about 3,700 as of September 25, and the country has another trainee who has been dismissed for up to one year. We are taking special measures so that we can work in the industry.

However, according to the support groups, there are a number of cases where the "supervisory group" that accepts the trainees loses their place to live because they do not support reemployment.

For this reason, we requested the government to work on strengthening measures, such as investigating the reemployment and living conditions of the dismissed trainees and clarifying the responsibilities of the "supervisory organization" that supports the trainees.

In response, a person in charge of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said, "I would like to hear from the dismissed trainees," and expressed his intention to grasp the actual situation.

Ippei Torii, the representative of the "national network of solidarity with migrants," said, "The supervising organization is not functioning, and the number of trainees who are saved by special measures of the country is limited. At the same time, we should consider a drastic review of the system. "
