His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed that the Lebanese publishing houses participating in the current session of the Sharjah International Book Fair be exempt from the pavilion rental fees incurred by them for their participation in the exhibition.

His Highness’s decision and directives came as a continuation of the support that the Emirate of Sharjah pledged to Lebanon’s libraries and publishing houses, following the recent bombings that affected the port of Beirut.

The value of the exemptions amounts to 640 thousand dirhams. For the participating Lebanese publishing houses, they will constitute a basic support and a true tributary to the sustainability of their work and giving.

On the initiative of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, said, “The initiative of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi embodies the emirate’s cultural and humanitarian mission together, in which we commit ourselves to standing by the Arab brothers in various countries of the world.” .
