A 40-year-old man, taken into custody as part of the investigation into the attempted murder of an Orthodox priest on October 31 in Lyon, admitted the facts, the prosecution announced on Saturday.

This man "turns out to be the husband of a woman who had an affair with the victim," said the public prosecutor Nicolas Jacquet in a statement.

“The investigation, entrusted to the dIPJ of Lyon, will continue to establish the motive and the exact course of the facts.

To this end, the opening of a judicial investigation is considered as soon as the custody ends, ”he continues in his press release.
