All indicators are on the rise.

"The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 is accelerating intensely in New Aquitaine, alert Public Health of France this Friday, with a significant increase in the positivity rate and the incidence rate.

Santé Publique de France recorded 17,481 positive cases for Sars-Cov-2 in New Aquitaine this Friday (consolidated data for the week of October 26 to November 1, up 33% compared to the previous week).

The incidence rate in the region is now 291.4 per 100,000 compared to 219 per 100,000 as of October 25.

The positivity rate continues to increase as well, reaching 15.4% against 13.6% the previous week.

The activity of emergency services doubled in two weeks

As of November 3, there are also 1,235 patients hospitalized for Covid-19 in the region, including 187 in intensive care (65 in Gironde).

Almost 80% are over 60 years old and the majority concern establishments in Gironde (24.5%) and Pyrénées-Atlantiques (20.6%).

These data are "up sharply" with 785 new hospitalizations and 110 new resuscitations, against 452 and 66 respectively the previous week.

The activity of emergency services for suspected Covid-19 is also increasing with 672 passages, or 3.3% of total activity in emergencies.

It has doubled in two weeks.

The incidence rate on the rise in all departments except Charente-Maritime

The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 is active in all the departments, however it remains heterogeneous: the incidence rate varies from 129 per 100,000 in Charente-Maritime to 521.7 in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

“This rate is increasing in all departments except Charente-Maritime where it remains stable, however this rate is underestimated due to incomplete data transmitted by some laboratories in the department, observes Public Health of France.

The departments of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Creuse and Haute-Vienne have the highest departmental incidence rates in the region.
