  • Mortality: The Government estimates 20,268 deaths from Covid-19 in residences during the first wave

Health data today register

22,516 new infections

since Thursday and

347 more deaths

.

For the second day in a row, 300 deaths have been exceeded, but today's data, Friday, is below the 368 deaths from yesterday.

Although the number of cases added to the total has rebounded compared to Thursday, when

21,908

were added

, the accumulated incidence of the virus for the whole of Spain has fallen slightly again, for the second day in a row, to stand at

525.74

.

The data reflects, however, a

new record in the number of deaths during the last seven days

, amounting to

1,088

.

This parameter has been two days in a row above a thousand and beating successive records for this second wave of the virus.

On Thursday, the deaths registered in the previous seven were

1,002

and on Wednesday,

888

.

By communities, Friday's report reflects that Andalusia (186), Castilla y León (156), Aragón (123), Asturias (90), Galicia (70), Catalonia (65), Madrid (61), Valencian Community (59 ) and Murcia (56) have been the regions where more lives have been lost in the last week.

In Friday's data, the count of cases since the start of the pandemic amounts to

1,328,832

in Spain.

The deceased are already

38,833

in total.

Hospital pressure data have experienced a slight decrease since yesterday, which has not been noticed in ICUs.

The number of patients admitted to Spain for Covid-19 is

20,209

- on Thursday there were 20,281 - and the percentage of occupancy has dropped less than one tenth, to

16.28%

.

In ICUs, however, Covid occupancy has increased, also slightly, to the

current

29.47%

, with

2,833

patients receiving intensive care.

The communities with the

most pressure in intensive care units

are Aragón (50.44%), Castilla y León (42.66%), Catalonia (42.47%), Navarra (40.00%), Asturias (39.78 %) and Madrid (37.05%), in addition to Ceuta (41.18%) and Melilla (42.86%).

Several of them, however, have experienced a slight relief compared to previous days and weeks, which has not prevented the national average from continuing to rise.

Diagnoses and outbreaks

Of the more than 20,000 new cases registered in the last report, they correspond to tests carried out on the last day,

9,150

, a figure lower than that of Thursday (9,606).

Of these new diagnoses,

Madrid is the one that contributes the most (2,075)

, followed by Catalonia (1,238), the Basque Country (1,214) and Aragon (1,030).

No other has exceeded a thousand, although it must be borne in mind that this and other data are

always subject to future variations

due to the already common delays in notification.

The Health report on Friday also offers a table with the distribution of outbreaks detected by activities.

In the last week,

211 outbreaks have been identified in educational centers

(13.83%), which are already the second area that contributes the most to the total, behind the family one, where 248 outbreaks have been found in this same time (16, 25%).
