The message came yesterday from Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen: all the mink in the country will be killed as a coronavirus has spread from mink to humans.
In total, there are about 17 million animals.
Denmark is the world's largest producer of mink fur and exports large batches to Russia, among other places.
The question is whether the industry will recover.
