They advocate the establishment of a "minimum youth".

Two socialist deputies are launching this Thursday a citizen consultation to “co-construct” a bill in favor of a basic income for 18-25 year olds, particularly affected by the economic crisis.

The deputy of the Landes Boris Vallaud and his Ardèche counterpart Hervé Saulignac, at the initiative of the bill for Individual Aid for Solidarity Emancipation (Wing), wish to invite citizens and organizations to debate around a basic income and a universal endowment from the age of 18, on the digital platform "Parliament & Citizens".

Young people weakened by the crisis

This digital debate must end on December 13 before a presentation to the National Assembly in February 2021, explain the Socialist deputies in a press release.

The elected PS also undertake to table in the form of amendments the 10 most popular proposals during the consultation, "even if they do not themselves provide their support".

Socialist deputies are calling for the establishment of social minima in favor of young people whom they consider particularly weakened by the economic and social crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic.

"The basic income aims to automatically pay, from the age of 18, a monthly minimum instead of the RSA and the activity bonus, on a decreasing basis according to the person's income, and without conditions", explain the elected socialists.

“The universal endowment aims to credit, from the age of 18, 5,000 euros on each Personal Activity Account for training purposes (continuation or resumption of studies, Bafa training), mobility (driving license) and entrepreneurship in all its forms (training and support for the creation of a business, cooperative, foundation, association) ”, they add.
