Lombardy was the first region in Europe to be hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
The first where localities were confined in February 2020 before the measure was generalized to all of Italy.

The summer lull did not spare Italy a second wave.
And as in spring 2020, Lombardy, the most populous region of the country, is on the front line, and the various health restriction measures are starting to cause discontent.
