Chloé Delaume's 28th novel tells with lucidity the loneliness of a Parisian bachelor in her forties today.

A tender and cruel comedy.

It is the story of a "woman like any other".

“A blue flower that is dipped in acid”.

Or that of a “contemporary heroine”, who lives in the era of social networks, Tinder, sex toys and organic markets.

A city flower, which one fine day finds itself because it has chosen it, on the love market.

At 46 years old, Adelaïde desperately wants to find a man, and leave this celibacy that she only envisioned as a voluntary airlock towards freedom and a new life.

With big shots of gin and tonic, between blue dreams and dark thoughts, from conversations to conversations with her four friends - like so many sisters - Adelaide will have to find a second breath in her life.
