The history of Swedish dance bands describes a male-dominated industry during the 70s and 80s, and a tough work environment for the few women who were active in it.

Kikki Danielsson was a singer in the dance band Wizex in the years 1973-1982.

She says that the fellow musicians never posed problems, quite the opposite - but that men in the audience could sometimes be offensive.

Kikki Danielsson, for example, felt at a gig had to leave the stage to change from a skirt to trousers to avoid being humiliated by men in the audience.

On another occasion, she struck an intrusive man.

- I patched a guy with the whole palm so I almost lost the feeling, she says in the documentary series.
