The Zayed Center for Studies and Research, affiliated to the Emirates Heritage Club, in cooperation with the Awsha bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi Foundation (Arab Girl), is organizing a virtual poetry evening today at 7 pm.

The evening, titled “The Poems of Ausha: Manhal of Wisdom, Beauty and Values,” will be attended by the poets: Muhammad Al-Bariki, Mahmoud Nour, Moayad Al-Shaibani and Maryam Al-Naqbi, and is moderated by Rifaat Abu Assaf.

The director of the Zayed Center for Studies and Research, Fatima Al-Mansoori, confirmed that “organizing this evening comes out of the Emirates Heritage Club’s interest in introducing the symbols of Nabati poetry, which is one of the most important components of the UAE’s folklore, especially since the poet Ausha bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi has a unique experience that formed a milestone. In the course of the development of the Nabati poetry movement in the country, and its experience contributed to enriching the cultural and poetic scene in the region. Her poetry is a heritage and historical record that contains an enormous amount of connotations, contents and symbols with their spatial and social parameters.

For his part, the founder of the Awsha Bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi Foundation, Dr. Hamid bin Muhammad Khalifa Al Suwaidi, said: “We are pleased, in cooperation with the Emirates Heritage Club, to organize this poetry evening for the late poet Ausha bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi, in honor of this great literary stature and to restore something of her poetry. She is considered a symbol of the Emirates, known for her achievement and giving, and her poetry is like a school that brought us up on her poem, and it became a reference for poets. ”He pointed out that the evening will be the start of cultural and heritage events for the“ Arab Girl ”, in loyalty to those who painted this country an honorable image that we can praise.
