China: on cliffs and without a railing: this is the most dangerous amusement park on the planet
Guinness: the king of jet skis and his record-breaking adventure: 3,600 kilometers in the open sea collecting plastics
The joke came out perfectly.
Rhys Simmons and Jamie Kamaz, young YouTubers, lovers of travel and having a laugh, never found a reasonable Airbnb, especially for their limited budget, so they decided to try their luck and upload their own rental to the platform.
But not one of the bunch, but "the worst Airbnb ever."
To their surprise,
it was not bad
.
The protagonists of Passion Squad, the channel where they publish their adventures, have known each other since childhood.
They went to school together, to university, they shared a flat ... They are also united by a great love of audiovisual production.
At the beginning of 2019 they decided, also together, to leave their respective jobs to pursue a career on YouTube uploading videos of their travels, almost all in Europe.
To create the "worst Airbnb in the world", however, they have not even had to leave London.
The idea was born on the internet.
The couple stumbled upon Null Stern, an exclusive luxury hotel that offers an unforgettable experience: sleeping in the open air, with no walls or roof blocking the view of the stars, amid the idyllic
Swiss Alpine scenery
.
Simmons and Kamaz moving the mattress.
They were so amused by this extravagance that they decided to recreate it.
All they needed was
second-hand furniture
: a mattress, a nightstand, a lamp "to give it a homey touch" and two wine glasses filled with water.
They took it all to a
country area north of London
and placed it under a tree.
"The important thing is to breathe fresh air," they say sarcastically in their video.
"But to our surprise, when we published it on Airbnb, people showed a crazy interest in renting the
accommodation,
" say the youtubers.
Questions like: "What happens if it rains?"
and offers like someone offering "85 pounds [94 euros] to stay four weeks."
"Creating the
worst Airbnb in the world
and getting so many applications is something we will never forget."
The couple never came to accept any request, but they were tempted.
"Maybe we should forget about YouTube and run a hotel full time."
