The government is convincing the French to download its app.

This Tuesday, the “Tous anti-Covid” application deployed a brand new feature concerning travel certificates, reports

BFMTV

.

Instead of returning to the government site, the app allows you to directly generate an exit exemption via its platform and even faster than with the classic certificate form.

Indeed, this functionality available in the "More" tab and accessible after an update, records the user's personal information, such as name, first name, date of birth, etc.

It is therefore no longer necessary to completely fill out the form on each trip, saving users as much time as possible.

"The certificate can be generated directly, even without a connection, and the QRcode is stored in the application," said Cédric O, the secretary of state for digital.

Still 8 million downloads needed to be effective

While it had been shunned at the start of the Coronavirus epidemic, the “Tous anti-Covid” application is experiencing renewed interest among the French since the new restriction measures.

"We are above 7 million downloads, or a little over 10% of the population and 4.5 million additional activations in 10 days," said the Secretary of State.

According to Inserm, for the app to be effective, it will have to be downloaded "by a minimum of 20% of the French", indicates Cédric O, who recognizes that it is an "ambitious goal but achievable ”.

"We have to be 15 million when we get out of confinement if we want to ensure that the application is really useful, particularly in public places where we stay for a long time such as cinemas, restaurants or public transport," and avoid a policy of “Stop and Go” which would be catastrophic, ”concludes the Secretary of State.
