New suspicions of mutilations of horses have been recorded in Brittany in recent weeks.

While "new cases" of injured animals became rarer, two cases of serious injuries were noted in the region.

According to

Le Télégramme

, a mare was found dead on October 5 in Pleurtuit, not far from Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine).

According to the daily, wounds were discovered on the body of the animal, in particular on its genitals.

The prosecution has announced the opening of an investigation but does not yet know if a man is responsible for the abuse.

Another injured horse near Lorient

More recently, another equine was seriously injured by a sharp object in Erdeven, in Morbihan.

The facts go back to October 30.

Contacted by

Le Télégramme

, the Lorient prosecutor's office confirmed human intervention to injure the horse, which presented deep wounds to the head.

Cases of injured horses have increased in recent months in France, without knowing the reason for these mutilations.

Many gendarmerie brigades have opened investigations to try to shed light on these acts of cruelty.

Without result for the moment.
