China News Service, Hong Kong, November 3-Hong Kong Next Media founder Li Zhiying and 24 others appeared in a Hong Kong court on the 3rd on suspicion of an illegal assembly case earlier this year.

The court announced that it will adjourn the case until February 5, 2021.

  It is reported that 24 people including Li Zhiying, Huang Zhifeng, He Junren, and Li Zhuoren were suspected of the illegal assembly case.

The case was heard by the District Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Due to the large number of defendants, the judge used the West Kowloon Magistracy to hear the case.

  There are 26 defendants in this case. Because Luo Guancong and Zhang Kunyang have left Hong Kong, only 24 have appeared in court.

The court has issued arrest warrants to Luo Guancong and Zhang Kunyang.

  Among the 26 defendants, Li Zhiying was charged with one crime of "inciting others to participate in an unauthorized assembly."

13 defendants including Huang Zhifeng were charged with a crime of "knowingly participating in an unapproved assembly."

Eleven defendants including He Junren were charged with one crime of "inciting others to participate in an unauthorized assembly" and one crime of "knowingly participating in an unauthorized assembly".

Li Zhuoren was charged with one crime of "inciting others to participate in an unauthorized assembly", one crime of "knowingly participating in an unauthorized assembly" and one crime of "holding an unauthorized assembly".

  According to Hong Kong's "Public Security Ordinance", the crime of illegal assembly can be sentenced to a maximum of 5 years in prison.
