A tribute to Samuel Paty, Place de la République.

D. Bancaud / 20minutes

His memory hovered in all establishments on Monday.

The students and teachers paid tribute to Samuel Paty, the teacher beheaded in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines) in October by a terrorist.

A minute of silence took place at 11 a.m. in his memory, after reading Jean Jaurès' letter to teachers.

Some teachers also spoke with their students on the subject.

But they will have until the end of November to work on an educational sequence around freedom of expression.

Students and teachers, tell us how this sequence went in your school.

Was the tribute to Samuel Paty preceded by a class discussion?

How did the students react?

Was the emotion strong?

Despite everything, did some students refuse to take the minute's silence?

If so, what sanctions have been taken against them?

If you are a teacher, will you be bringing up this tragedy again in class?

Or are you preparing a course on freedom of expression or secularism?
