On November 1, the Ministry of Water Resources and the National Development and Reform Commission announced that the Three Gorges Project has completed all the procedures for the overall completion acceptance.
According to the acceptance conclusion, the construction tasks of the Three Gorges Project were fully completed, the quality of the project met the specifications and design requirements, and the overall performance was excellent, the operation continued to be in good condition, and the comprehensive benefits such as flood control, power generation, shipping, and water resources utilization were brought into full play.
The Three Gorges Project is by far the largest water conservancy project in the world and the hydropower project with the most comprehensive benefits.
The monitoring showed that the main buildings such as the barrage dam, flood discharge and energy dissipation, water diversion and power generation, navigation and Maopingxi protection project are in normal working condition, and the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, metal structure equipment are operating safely and stably.
