It was already compulsory for middle and high school students since the start of the September school year.

From Monday, primary school students will also have to wear a mask in class.

To deal with the emergency and give each family time to acquire a sufficient stock, single-use masks will be made available free of charge in all elementary schools in Rennes Métropole.

[COVID19] To protect our children, Rennes Métropole has just placed an order for 80,000 reusable fabric masks.

In the coming days, we will be giving 2 masks to all children attending elementary schools in the 43 municipalities of Rennes Métropole.

The community also indicates that it has ordered 80,000 reusable fabric masks in child size.

In the coming days, all children attending public and private elementary schools in the metropolitan area's 43 municipalities will each receive two masks.

As with the first order placed in the spring, the masks will be manufactured by local companies based in particular in Liffré and Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine).

The start of the school year will take place at the usual time

The return to class this Monday will also be marked by a tribute to Samuel Paty which will be paid from 10 am in all schools.

Despite procrastination, the start of the school year will take place at the usual time with lessons starting at 8.45 am.

The city of Rennes finally specifies that, despite the health context, the extra-curricular reception hours remain unchanged in the schools of the city (from 7:30 am and until 6:45 pm).
