At the time of containment, the figures of the Covid-19 epidemic continue their meteoric rise in Toulouse and Haute-Garonne.

According to the latest localized figures, made public Friday evening by the prefect of Haute-Garonne, Etienne Guyot, the incidence rate of the virus is now 396.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the department (for an alert threshold maximum still set at 250), against 306.2 a week earlier, when the curfew was put in place.

"The incidence rate is particularly high for 20-30 year olds, 594.6 per 100 per 100,000 inhabitants of this age group," said the representative of the State.

On these generations, the increase is still not stopped since the incidence rate was 548 on October 24.

Worrisome increase in the 60-70 age group

Among the 60-70 year-olds, who are particularly vulnerable, the outbreak is even more worrying: the incidence rate fell in one week from 195.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to 324.6.

Finally, the test positivity rate fell from 14.8% to 18.5%, but remains below the level reached nationally, to 20.2% now.

These new figures for the epidemic will only affect hospital activity in several days.

But on Friday, the Toulouse University Hospital identified 168 Covid patients within its walls, including 35 in intensive care and had passed the mark of 100 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic.
