Actor Gilles Azzopardi died on the night of Friday to Saturday at the age of 53, according to France Bleu.

This actor, very attached to Provence, was known for his appearances in several mainstream television series.

He had notably played in 2006 a bartender in the soap opera “Plus belle la vie”, before playing the guardian of the Baumettes in 2018. He had also appeared several times in “Under the sun” and “Reserved surveys”, respectively broadcast on TF1 and France 3.

"We will miss you my love of father, I will never be able to forget you and I thank you for having rocked me", pays homage to him his son on his Facebook page.

Gilles Azzopardi died from an illness.

According to Pure People, the actor had been placed in October some time in intensive care "following a major infection".

Recently, this artist, also known for his staging and his talents as a singer, had started writing a novel.
