“These unbearable desecration […] are part of a series of events aimed at terrorizing and intimidating French citizens of Armenian origin,” the CDCA said in a statement.

And to quote a "first descent" of the Gray Wolves in Décines on July 24th.

Then, on October 28, a new descent, which followed a brawl on the A7 motorway during a demonstration by Armenians in defense of Nagorno Karabakh, which left 4 wounded.

We strongly condemn the desecration of the #GenocideArménien Memorial and the @_CNMA_ of # Décines.

These new testimonies of hatred against the # Armenians are part of the continuity of the denial of the # Armenian genocide and the Turkish-Azeri war against the people of # Artsakh

“Long-term protection” demanded by the mayor of Décines

The CDCA "denounces the very serious passivity of the state" and recalls its request for the dissolution of the Gray Wolves, already formulated last week during previous incidents in the metropolis in connection with the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Laurence Fautra, LR mayor of Décines, also renewed Sunday with the prefect of the Rhône his request for "lasting and physical protection" of the district of Little Armenia.

"We hope for a communication of support from the Turkish consul in Lyon and that he advocates a message of peace," added Laurence Fautra.

“We can't go on like this!

We are not a war zone but a mosaic of cultures that live in peace ”.

In a tweet published in the middle of the morning, the prefect of the Rhône Pascal Mailhos “strongly condemned the degradations committed that night”.

"Everything will be done to find the perpetrators of these profanations," he assured.
