[Explanation] The billowing smoke continued to gush out, the originally brightly lit platform plunged into darkness, the train could not run, and the passengers collapsed to the ground. Firefighters dealt with the police immediately and rescued the trapped persons.

This was a scene from the comprehensive practical exercise of subway fire fighting and rescue held by the Beijing Fire Rescue Corps in the early morning of October 31.

[Explanation] This exercise simulated a fire in a subway station and a large number of passengers were trapped.

At 0:30, the UPS battery room of Ciqikou Station on Line 7 "fired". The train could not leave the station due to a line failure, and thick smoke spread to the platform and carriages.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and went deep inside the subway to search for the fire and rescue the trapped people.

The search and rescue team used the "fishbone search and rescue method" to search and rescue the trapped personnel on the platform; the fire extinguishing team used fire extinguishing robots and dry foam to extinguish the UPS battery room.

This exercise tonight is mainly aimed at subway fire accidents, testing our fire rescue team’s ability to deal with subway fires. At the same time, I want to pass this exercise to allow our team to accumulate experience in the future disposal process. Being able to analyze some hidden dangers of subway fires and some potential rescue difficulties will greatly improve our next troop training work.

[Explanation] The drill mobilized 14 units, 41 vehicles, and more than 339 people.

With the cooperation of all parties, the open fire in the subway station was extinguished at 0:55, all trapped persons were rescued safely and properly rescued, and the comprehensive exercise was successfully concluded.

Through this exercise, we also want to educate the general public on how to attach importance to escape and how to protect themselves when encountering a subway fire. We also want to let all citizens raise their awareness of safety protection and strengthen this aspect. Learn.
